SCANDAL
Scandal is a Japanese rock band composed entirely of women, originating from Osaka in 2006. Although each of the four members takes turns as lead vocalists, they mainly focus on their individual roles within the group: Haruna handles vocals and rhythm guitar, Mami leads on guitar, Tomomi plays bass guitar, and Rina manages the drums. Through numerous international concerts and creating theme songs for anime, Scandal has cultivated a sizable global fan community. Fans worldwide have consistently voted the band into the top ranks of the "Most-Requested Artists" category of the J-Melo Awards every year since 2010, achieving first place in 2014.
Founded in August 2006 by four high school students, Scandal initially performed live street shows until they gained recognition and signed with the indie label Kitty Records. In 2008, they launched three singles and a mini-album while touring the United States, France, and Hong Kong concurrently. By October of the same year, Scandal released their debut major single, "Doll," under Epic Records Japan. The band has contributed theme songs to various anime series, such as "Shōjo S" and "Harukaze" for Bleach, "Shunkan Sentimental" for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, "Pride" for Star Driver, and "A.M.D.K.J." for GeGeGe no Kitarō.
