ClariS

ClariS is a Japanese pop duo formed in 2009 by singers Clara and Alice from Hokkaido during their junior high school years. They initially gained attention by posting cover songs on the Japanese video sharing website Niconico between 2009 and 2010. ClariS later signed with SME Records and released their debut single "Irony" in October 2010, followed by three more singles between 2011 and 2012, leading up to their debut album "Birthday" in 2012.

This album earned a Gold Disc from the Recording Industry Association of Japan for shipping over 100,000 copies in a single year. Subsequently, they released six more singles between 2012 and 2014, featured on their subsequent albums "Second Story" (2013) and "Party Time" (2014). Alice left the duo after "Party Time," and Karen joined ClariS in late 2014. In 2017, ClariS transitioned to the Sacra Music label under Sony Music Entertainment Japan.
