HAYATO SUMINO "CATEEN" LIVE IN SINGAPORE

It has been announced that Hayato Sumino "Canteen" will be performing live at Esplanade Concert Hall ,Singapore as part of his tour.

Hayato is a growing musical sensation with classical and digital influences, having received international praise for songs such as 7 levels of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Big Cat Waltz, Recollection, and New Birth. 

Hayato, a really ambidextrous talent, earned the Grand Prix at Japan's prestigious PTGN piano competition as a science postgraduate at the University of Tokyo, before reaching the semi-finals of the 2021 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw. 

Outside of the concert halls, he publishes his creative, cross-genre compositions on YouTube under the moniker Cateen, which has over 1.3 million followers and 160 million views to date!

HAYATO SUMINO "CATEEN" 

Hayato Sumino, born on July 14, 1995, is a Japanese pianist and composer renowned for his renditions of Frédéric Chopin's music.

Hailing from Tokyo, Sumino commenced piano lessons at the age of 3. He pursued studies in science and engineering at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, culminating in a master's degree and the prestigious President's Award in March 2020. Additionally, he spent six months delving into music information processing technology and artificial intelligence at the French Institute for Research and Coordination in Acoustics/Music.

In August 2018, Sumino clinched the Grand Prix at the 42nd PTNA Piano Competition, a notable Japanese piano contest. He furthered his accolades by securing the third prize at the Lyon International Piano Competition in July 2019.

The year 2021 witnessed Sumino's participation in the XVIII International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, advancing impressively to the third round, also known as the semifinals. His captivating live performance during the second round captivated an audience of 45,000 online viewers, establishing a notable record for the competition. Notably, Sumino undertook intensive online studies with Jean-Marc Luisada in preparation for the competition, necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sumino also engages with his audience as a YouTuber under the moniker "Cateen," boasting over one million subscribers as of 2022.
